In October 1987 TransAm
Trucking, based in Kansas City, Missouri hauled the
first load of freight from the Midwest to the East Coast. The
company started as a refrigerated truckload carrier with 70
tractors and 100 refrigerated trailers. In 1990 the company
outgrew the office and shop facility in Missouri and moved
across the state line to Olathe, Kansas. In 1998 we were on
the move again, this time 2 blocks away to a newly constructed
office and shop facility located on 40 acres of land. A Dedicated
Fleet based in North Carolina was added in 2001 which now operates
over 100 power units and in 2005 TransAm expanded to the
Dallas, TX area opening a new terminal and adding an additional
250 power units.
With an emphasis on quality and steady controlled growth,
TransAm Trucking has become one of the top carriers in the country
today. Highly respected in the industry, TransAm now
has more than 1200 tractors and over 2400 refrigerated trailers.
This growth can be attributed to the founding philosophy that
has guided the company since its inception. That philosophy is
based on dedicating all of the resources of the company, the
people, equipment, and technology to YOU, the customer, in such
a way that makes it easy to do business. In the complex world
of today, TransAm is constantly looking for new and better ways
to identify and meet the customers needs while living by three
important rules, do what is right, treat people like we want
to be treated, and do the best job that we can! |
