TRANSAM OVERVIEW

Founded in 1987, TransAm Trucking earned its status as the premier carrier in the temperature-controlled freight industry by providing its customers with superior service that exceeds their expectations. Initially founded with 70 tractors and 100 trailers, TransAm has expanded beyond its first Kansas City, Missouri facility and now operates a fleet of over 1,000 tractors and over 1,900 trailers out of its headquarters in nearby Olathe, Kansas. TransAm also maintains a fully-staffed terminal, driver’s center and maintenance facility in Rockwall, Texas as well as a maintenance and orientation facility in Tampa, Florida.

TransAm Trucking serves the Midwest, Mid-South, Northeast, and Southeast.

TransAm’s management team focuses on sustaining the company’s position as the premier carrier in the temperature-controlled freight industry. Through consistent, controlled growth, investment in technology and a focus on the environment, the management team explores every opportunity to make TransAm the leading transportation company to work for and do business with.

Johnny and Trudy Jacobson own TransAm Trucking with Johnny serving as CEO and Trudy as Chairman of the Board. Prior to founding TransAm in 1987, the Jacobsons came from National Beef and National Carriers based in Liberal, KS.

Murray Droescher joined TransAm in 1998 as Controller and was named Chief Financial Officer in 1999. Prior to TransAm, Mr. Droescher had several years of accounting experience as an Audit Manager with Interstate Bakeries from 1995-1998 and with Deloitte from 1989-1995.
