TransAm overview

Founded in 1987, TransAm Trucking earned its status as the premier carrier in the temperature-controlled freight industry by providing its customers with superior service that exceeds their expectations. Initially founded with 70 tractors and 100 trailers, TransAm has expanded beyond its first Kansas City, Missouri facility and now operates a fleet of over 1,000 tractors and over 1,900 trailers out of its headquarters in nearby Olathe, Kansas. TransAm also maintains a fully-staffed terminal, driver’s center and maintenance facility in Rockwall, Texas.

TransAm Trucking serves the Midwest, Mid-South, Northeast, Southeast, and Florida.

TransAm's management team focuses on sustaining the company's position as the premier carrier in the temperature-controlled freight industry. Johnny & Trudy Jacobson

Owners
Johnny and Trudy Jacobson own TransAm Trucking with Johnny serving as CEO and Trudy as Chairman of the Board. Prior to founding TransAm in 1987, the Jacobsons came from National Beef and National Carriers based in Liberal, KS.

Russ McElliott

President
Russ McElliott is President of TransAm Trucking. Mr. McElliott started his career at TransAm in 1990 as Operations Manager. In 1995 he was named Vice President/General Manager and served as COO from 2005-2009. Mr. McElliott's previous transportation experience was with Wilson Foods where he held the position of Transportation and Operations Manager.

Murray Droescher

Chief Financial Officer
Murray Droescher joined TransAm in 1998 as Controller and was named Chief Financial Officer in 1999. Prior to TransAm, Mr. Droescher had several years of accounting experience as an Audit Manager with Interstate Bakeries from 1995-1998 and with Deloitte from 1989-1995.
